North State Bank has an exciting opportunity for an SBA Loan Support Specialist in our Loan Operations Department. The SBA Loan Support Specialist role reviews post-close SBA Loan Documentation for accuracy and sets documentation exceptions for incomplete or incorrect documents. Boards new loans into the loan system and provides servicing of the SBA loan portfolio. Monitors and tracks required business and collateral insurance. Provides loan related support to the SBA Team and feedback on any document related issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Serves as operational specialist by providing documentation and servicing support for the Bank's SBA Loan portfolio.
Reviews all SBA loans for accuracy and required documentation in adherence to SBA SOP, regulatory requirements and Bank policy and procedures.
Identifies and assigns all SBA loan exceptions and provides detailed guidance verbally or in writing to the SBA Loan Closer. Also reviews and clears exceptions as needed.
Tracks all collateral and business insurance for SBA portfolio loans.
Boards all new SBA loans into the core system, to include the setup of any participant information.
Processes and reviews all SBA related modifications, extensions, and other loan maintenance, as required.
Provides general loan related support for our SBA team.
Serves as backup for SBA Loan Servicing Specialist to include general ledger reconciliations, 1502 processing and reporting, account maintenance, and payoff processing.
Stays current on SBA Servicing SOP to ensure processes and procedures are updated to reflect any changes.
Attend quarterly SBA Team meetings when required.
Participates in special projects and assignments as needed.

Qualifications (Includes education, certifications, experience, etc.):

An associate degree in business or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience within a loan operations environment.
Three or more years of SBA loan servicing, loan accounting and/or commercial loan operations experience.
Working knowledge of loan documentation, regulatory requirements, with a preference of SBA SOP knowledge.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel and Word, thorough background with a core banking system, preferable Jack Henry, and ability to effectively adapt and navigate multiple software's.
