Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

This position involves interacting with device, hardware and software design teams to assist in the overall development of optical systems; specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive optical components; developing and benchmarking system performance models; developing and implementing test procedures and/or evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation; contributing to the generation and maintenance of documentation. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently to determine approaches to challenges and will provide leadership and direction to less experienced team members.

What sets you apart:

  • Leadership experience or roles such as Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead, Project Manager, Deputy Program Manager of Engineering (DPME) or similar.
  • Significant experience in the use of optical and electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunication applications and electrical engineering design tools.
  • Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electro-optical engineering design.
  • Experience with R&D rapid turnaround including concept, design, modeling, prototype, vendor interface, and test.
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design.
  • Collaborative team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.

Workplace Options:

This position is fully on-site with occasional Hybrid/Flex available.

While on-site, you will be a part of the Annapolis Junction, MD team.

Target salary range: USD $195,826.00/Yr. - USD $207,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
