JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Fox Graduate School at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Graduate Admissions Coordinator with strong communication skills for its Graduate Admissions team.

Responsibilities:Primary responsibilities for this position include the following duties:

  • Review application materials to determine eligibility in accordance with Penn State graduate education policy and guidelines. Correspond with applicants, graduate programs of study and educational institutions concerning undergraduate programs.

  • Verify domestic and international application credentials. This may include the need to research and investigate information and materials on official degree conferral documentation and/or recognition or accreditation from appropriate oversight organizations.

  • Maintain a body of knowledge on credential evaluation gained from credential evaluators, admission professional communities, publications, etc.

  • Process admission decisions as they are determined by graduate programs of study.

  • Handle complex admission situations by applying appropriate university policy.

  • Through utilization of a ticketing system, assist prospective students with questions related to the Fox Graduate School application and other information technology issues that may require attention (example: resolve duplicate identity issues).

  • Interpret and support Graduate Council and Fox Graduate School policies and procedures to college program staff, faculty and students.

  • Assist with functions pertaining to the Fox Graduate School commencement ceremony.

Education and Experience: This position will be filled as a Graduate Enrollment Services Coordinator, Intermediate Professional, and requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher and 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in higher education and using student information systems (e.g. PeopleSoft or LionPATH) is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required. Requires excellent judgment in problem solving.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$42,100.00 - $61,000.00
