This opportunity is in the Insurance Underwriting department

The Insurance Underwriting Department offers a culture of empowerment to produce results and resolve clients' issues. Role Description:

As a Cyber Underwriter, you'll be on the front lines of a dynamic and expanding Cyber Insurance practice. Reporting to the Director of Cyber Insurance and supporting the western region, you'll underwrite both new and renewal Cyber risk accounts. You'll assess coverage requests, pricing, endorsements, and overall exposure, while actively contributing to the growth of our Cyber portfolio. This role offers a high level of collaboration with Account Services, Legal, Claims, and Business Development to ensure consistent service delivery and alignment across departments.

You'll help shape the future of Safety National's Cyber Insurance capabilities, identifying and targeting opportunities, developing broker and risk manager relationships, and contributing to underwriting strategy. Your efforts will directly influence our underwriting profitability and revenue growth while delivering customized, market-leading solutions to large accounts across diverse industries.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent insurance underwriter work experience is required.

Required Qualifications:



  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • 1 or more years of Cyber underwriting experience, ideally with large account (> $1B revenue) clients.

  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles or San Francisco Locations. All employees are required to submit work-from-home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong performance history in an underwriting production environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain broker and client relationships.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally across Claims, Legal, and Business Development.
  • Insurance brokerage experience is a plus.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Leadership potential and a data-driven business mindset.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
