Job Description

The Vertex Internship Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry. Not only will interns learn about their day-to-day tasks through their specific work assignments, but they will interact and have exposure to our organizational leaders and their teams.

Job Summary:

The person in this role will be a supportive member of Vertex's DTE GMDA team for GCO and Clinical Development. This intern will specifically support the build and configuration of our Business Analysis process and delivery of business requirements for individual projects within Clinical Operations. This will enable the organization to function optimally by organizing our business requirements gathering practices across our several Clinical Trial Business Capabilities as well as various GCO DTE Projects. This will include tasks such as implementation, reporting, and configuration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and gather requirements for DTE GCO Business Capabilities
  • Align our Business Analysis new process with best practices from the Software Development Lifecycle at Vertex.
  • Assess best solution selection, implementation and configuration
  • Support and/or monitor tasks around new system implementation and testing
  • Understand, Analyze, and identify opportunities to improve our business analysis processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunity points for partnership.

Qualifications:

  • Curious and inquisitive, willing to learn new business processes
  • Collaborative individual, who can work with a varied set of stakeholders and extract business needs from them
  • Basic understanding of Software Development LifeCycle
  • Understanding of SDLC software platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, ALM
  • Ability to work with systems like MS Visio, and other Microsoft Office products
  • Legal authorizationto work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before May 2025
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from May - August 2025

Pay Range 20.00 - 27.00 USD/hour

This job posting is for a temporary role with a third-party agency partner that provides services to Vertex. The range provided is a reasonable estimate for the pay range for this job at the time of posting. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
