Job Summary

The Audio Visual Specialist provides specialized support, coordination, implementation, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual systems and multimedia equipment including hardware and software to support classroom and conference room media technology. This role involves running live-stream events and providing hands-on technical or production support for small or large-scale events. The Audio Visual Specialist enjoys interacting with faculty, staff, and students to support AV technology and events.

Essential Functions

35% - Provides specialized audio-visual support and services that includes multi-media, video, broadcasting, audio engineering for college events, conferences, live-streaming, and large-scale events.
20% - Installing and troubleshooting audio, video and AV control systems
20% - Connecting, tuning, and configuring AV setups as needed to ensure high-quality production
20% - Preventative maintenance activities for AV systems such as projector filters, sound quality, general system operation, pre-event system readiness testing.
5% - Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience with supporting audio visual and multimedia systems, hardware and software, and end-users of audio-visual systems.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

1. Proficiency in operating, installing, and maintaining audio, video, and control systems, including projectors, sound systems, displays, and video conferencing platforms.
2. Hands-on experience with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of AV systems for various environments or scenarios such as conference rooms and event spaces.
3. Understanding of industry standards and protocols, including signal flow, cable types, networking, and best practices for system integration.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects or service requests simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
5. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently in live environments, ensuring minimal disruption.

Special Working Conditions

May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements

May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

May be required to work evenings and weekends

Climbing stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas along with working at heights.

Work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions
