Drive and own the development, management, and implementation of the company's privacy posture, data ethics, and general compliance program Enhance and elevate the company's privacy program by crafting and delivering training and awareness that supports the company's privacy posture with customized delivery for key stakeholder groups Monitor and audit compliance efforts and benchmark against the privacy compliance plan Act as a strategic liaison to the business, including product, marketing, and engineering teams, to balance risk with business opportunity as it relates to privacy and compliance Be the evangelist across the organization to champion a best-in-class privacy offering, providing stakeholders with practical, actionable advice and risk-based guidance and support Lead and appropriately leverage the skills of the existing data privacy team and grow the team as needed to support the business Report to the General Counsel and advise on areas of exposure and risk by staying abreast of burgeoning state and global regulatory changes (although the successful candidate need not be an attorney) Create and maintain data privacy polices and internal controls that ensure the company is complying with key laws and regulations Cultivate an intimate understanding of the business to align with privacy frameworks that govern the core activities of the business globally Lead operational processes for compliance with relevant business activities, and act as a partner to propel the business forward by instituting Privacy by Design principles, including getting involved at the beginning of projects and ensuring that product developers address privacy concerns during a product or service's build, implantation, and launch Manage privacy complaints and incidents, including investigating and responding to data breach incidents * Lead by example by being a roll-up-your-sleeves doer Be a sophisticated, knowledgeable resource for savvy partners and vendors, particularly related to the company's connected services model - anticipate needs related to AI/ML and proactively address concerns Fluently understand the best ways to leverage privacy tools, such as OneTrust Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university Preferred - Master's degree or JD 6+ years of experience in the Corporate Compliance field(s), ideally within, or advising, a global organization Ability to adhere to and champion Chamberlain Group's cultural behaviors Domestic or international travel up to 20% Preferred - 10 years of compliance experience within, or advising, a global organization Strong critical thinking and influencing skills across all organizational levels with an unbiased approach to situations Demonstrate positive, respectful, direct and open communications across all organizational levels Ability to maintain a high degree of credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust Guide collaborative, cross functional root-cause analysis activities needed to understand our compliance and risk posture Capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment, effectively and efficiently Strong research and analytical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to anticipate the needs of others and deliver with timeliness and accurately, sensing the urgency of the situation Effective time management, project management, organizational and prioritization skills
