Risk teams focus on giving the firm clarity on the risk profile of our activities and devise strategies to protect the firm's ability to serve our clients effectively.

Embedded in everything we do, risk management is key to effectively identifying, monitoring and anticipating the diverse array of risks the firm faces in serving clients and operating its global businesses, including credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk operational risk and model risk.

If you apply to this skillset, you will be considered for multiple roles across the firm that require this skillset. DIVISIONS AND JOB FUNCTIONS

Asset Management Division is a global, broad and deep platform with diversified capabilities across public and private asset classes. We are a top 10 global asset manager with a leadership position across asset classes and key market segments. The integration of our traditional and alternative asset management businesses will enhance our ability to deliver a holistic suite of client-centric investment solutions, benefitted by our global scale, deep industry expertise, market insights and long-standing experience.




  • Alternatives Capital Markets & Strategy (ACMS) is a firmwide group established in 2019 to oversee all institutional capital markets, capital raising, and strategy for alternative investments throughout Goldman Sachs. Engaging with both Goldman Sachs' proprietary direct-investing programs and external managers' open-architecture strategies, the ACMS Group centrally manages capital raising for all alternatives products and portfolio solutions for all institutional investors in alternatives, across private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, secondaries, GP stakes, impact investing, and absolute-return strategies.



Compliance is dedicated to protecting the reputation of the firm and managing risk across all business areas. We work closely with each business, our professionals interpret and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and determine how the firm can appropriately pursue global market opportunities. We monitor regulatory trends and changes in all jurisdictions in which the firm does business, and we share information and collaborate with regulators to manage financial market risk.

Conflicts Resolution Group is involved in a wide range of the firm's businesses and transactions and provides exposure to the most senior business leaders and risk managers across the firm. CRG reviews business opportunities across the firm to ensure that reputational risk and potential and actual conflicts of interest are identified, assessed and managed so as to protect client relationships, safeguard confidential information, mitigate reputational risk and ensure that we are able to fulfill our responsibilities to our clients prior to accepting a role

  • Consumer Risk is comprised of Credit Risk, Business Risk, Fraud Strategy and Collections, we are responsible for establishing policies and procedures to protect our business.



Corporate & Workplace Solutions Our mission is to deliver solutions that maximize the efficiency and productivity of our people. CWS includes the following pillars: Workplace Experience, CWS Engineering, Spend Management, Divisional Management and the Office of Global Security.   • Workplace Experience encompasses the comprehensive onsite workplace experience, how people interact with the workplace, on and off-site events and our overall location strategy. Departments include Events, Real Estate Strategy, Real Estate Development and On-Site Solutions, which is comprised of Document Management, Facilities, Ground Transportation and Hospitality.
  • CWS Engineering aligns several engineering functions focused on collaboration and productivity tools. Departments include Digital Workplace, Client and Production Engineering, Corporate Engineering, Spend, Data and Automation and Product Success and Delivery Engineering.
  • Spend Management encompasses the functions responsible for managing all aspects of the firm's spend with third parties -- advising commercial agreements, managing third party and payment risk and driving operating efficiency. Departments include Product Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Third Party Governance, Procure to Pay, Integrated Travel and Expense and Infrastructure and Transformation.
  • Divisional Management aligns division-wide functions to drive strategic cohesiveness, consistency and efficiency. Departments include Business Unit Management, Communications and User Engagement, Risk and Environmental, Social & Governance.



Global Markets Division enables our clients to buy and sell financial products, raise funding and manage risk. We make markets and facilitate client transactions in fixed income, equity, currency and commodity products. In addition, we make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.




  • Equities teams transact in stocks and other equity-related products, including convertible securities, options, and futures. Their work includes financing, securities lending, and other services for institutional investors.
  • Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities teams transact in a variety of assets, including interest rate products (such as government bonds, treasury bills, and other highly liquid instruments), credit products, mortgages, currencies, and commodities



Internal Audit assesses the firm's internal control structure, advises management on developing control solutions, and monitors the implementation of these measures. Working in this department means you'll be providing reasonable assurance that financial reporting is reliable, there is compliance with applicable laws and regulations and the firm's operations are effectively controlled.

Risk aims to effectively identify, monitor, evaluate and manage the firm's financial and operational risks - including reputational risk - in support of the firm's strategic plan. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree (2018 - June 2022)
  • 0-3 years of prior work experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficient to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a variety of industries and businesses
  • Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
  • Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and global stakeholders
  • Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive information
