Join our Emergency Services Department at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista, serving San Diego County's South Bay communities. We offer 24-hour emergency care and are consistently recognized for clinical excellence and patient safety by Healthgrades. Our department leads innovative efforts to reduce patient wait times and was the first to implement a sepsis code, serving as a model for all Scripps Health Emergency Departments. Employees describe the work environment as friendly, positive, and family-oriented, with strong collaboration among staff.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 24-bed Emergency Department, where you will provide direct patient care, including assessment, care planning, and progress evaluation. You will lead the care team in ensuring optimal patient outcomes while working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:



  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Active California RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
  • NRP Healthcare Provider Certification through the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire date
  • 1 year in the last 2 years of adult emergency services experience
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • CEN - Certified Emergency Nursing
