Chamber Orchestra Teacher - Cranbrook Upper School Cranbrook Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Advanced Chamber Orchestra teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The core of this part-time position will revolve around one daily class, composed of the highest achieving string players in the school. The ensemble will perform at least four times a year, with selections that bridge the gap between advanced high school and first-year conservatory repertoire. Extending beyond this daily class, the interested candidate is also expected to coach a string quartet. Ideally, the candidate will also help organize performances within and outside of the Cranbrook community. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field with expertise in string pedagogy. Possessing an enthusiasm for teaching students at a range of age and ability levels is a necessity. The right individual for this position values a highly collaborative approach to teaching and learning, a growth mindset, and a good sense of humor. As this is a part-time role, flexibility and willingness to cooperate with other members of the performing arts team is of upmost importance. Familiarity with music technology, such as recording methods and notation software is preferred.
