Overview

LMI seeks senior-level Mission Support Specialist to support a federal program management office in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate trade and travel. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide "eyes and ears" technology to protect our nation. Specifically, this position will support the Advanced Deliverable Voice Operational Networking (ADVON) effort within the Communications, Command & Control (C3) Portfolio. The Tactical Communications Devices (TCD) Team within ADVON provides enterprise-wide lifecycle management, logistics services, and coordination of Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) communications devices.

Responsibilities

You will support one of our client's programs by providing management analysis and planning; cost, schedule, risk, records, and inventory management; and deliverable development and oversight. You will compile management information including scope, cost, schedule, performance, and quality to provide visibility into deployment progress.

Representative responsibilities include:

    Support overall Land Mobile Radio (LMR) subscriber lifecycle management
  • Deliver a proactive approach to optimizing the LMR subscriber fleet
  • Support radio asset inventory management, shipping, and tracking
  • Organize stakeholder coordination, to include operational components.
  • Develop, or contribute to:
    • Field Advisories
    • Issue Papers
    • Email Correspondence
    • PMR Reporting
    • Slide Decks for Various Purposes
    • Tasker Responses

Support Mobile/Portable Radio Deployments

  • Coordinate the use of 300 APX-7500 radios from inventory.
  • Track individual installs and overall burn rate.
  • Conduct data analysis to recommend procurement quantities.
  • Create pivot tables and charts, perform conditional formatting and remove duplication utilizing excel functions such as XLOOKUP, IFERROR, MATCH, COUNTBLANK, etc.
  • Provide coordination with procurements.
  • USBP Vehicle Fleet Management coordination.
    • Conduct transition of funding and mobile needs estimating.
  • Support coordination and input on spec development for portable and mobile radios.
  • Support coordination of radio training efforts.

Engage with FSD, MAPMO/UNICOR

  • Resolution of QA issues.
  • Test equipment training.
  • Wiring kit deployments.
  • Assistance to OFO if they decide to use UNICOR for wiring kit installs.

Support Approval of L3H Firmware

  • Regression testing.
  • Field testing.
  • Leadership decision on mandating use of L3H portables.

Conduct New Product Research

  • Use of mobile radios in electric vehicles.

Program Management Support

  • Manage and report on cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Provide analysis of issues affecting program cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Implement reporting framework and standards.
  • Goal identification and management.
  • Risk identification and administration.
  • Develop and monitor status of deliverables.
  • Coordinate project status reviews.
  • Prepare briefings.
  • Work with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups.
  • Respond to data calls to the component projects for information needed.
  • Develop responses to internal and external inquiries.
  • Manage processes, records, and information.
  • Manage vendor review process and record vendor deliverables.
  • Work with records management personnel, serve as librarian for historical records keeping of critical program documentation.
  • Monitor expenditures against budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Note: Some travel may be required (less than 10%)



Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
  • Previous work with CBP is a plus.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience and a bachelor's or master's degree in business, management, finance, or information management.
  • At least six years of experience with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) portable and mobile radio subscriber units.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to procure, deploy and manage the life cycle of LMR portable and mobile radio units for law enforcement at the Subject Matter Expert level.
  • Ability to evaluate LMR equipment capabilities, manage deployments of established and new/upgraded equipment, provide subscriber programming input, and contribute to technical issue resolution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Advanced/Expert in Microsoft Excel; highly skilled in using MS Office Suite to create products to present the data.
  • Project management and analysis experience.
  • Excellent writing abilities and experience in presentation development.
  • Experience in process documentation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Target salary range: $132,000 - $170,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
