This position serves as a lead worker, assigns and monitors the work of office staff, performs the highest level and most complex fiscal support assignments, including monitoring the integrity and accuracy of financial transactions. This position serves as subject matter expert in resolving completed reconciliations and escalated student issues. The incumbent demonstrates high level commitment to teamwork, provides support to Fiscal Supervisor in ensuring Student Business Services Office goals and objectives are met. Essential Functions 45% - Serves as lead worker, assigns and monitors the work of others, assist office staff with processes, develops, maintains and make process recommendations; responsible for ensuring accurate accounting procedures, general office processes, account reconciliations, fiscal management compliance, third party invoicing and related student account and fiscal functions; conducts routine one-on-one, group and new staff training as needed 45% - Performs complex student account analysis; interprets financial data, researches discrepancies, and resolves reconciliations; reviews and processes a variety of student and fiscal documents such as, student debt authorizations, third party billing authorizations, and journal vouchers; uses reporting tools, system queries, and MCCCD's Financial Systems to produce financial reports for internal reconciliations purposes as needed; provides high volume of professional customer service for internal and external customers 10% - Responds to the more complex requests and complaints requiring technical research, high level analysis and judgement, while identifying and applying resolution and performs other related duties assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of fiscal support experience related to area of assignment. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or Desired Qualifications A. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field B. Three (3) or more years directing, assigning and monitoring the work of others C. Three (3) or more years of experience with accounting principles, developing and maintaining process, procedures, recommending best practices, and financial record-keeping D. Three (3) years of experience working with students in student financial office setting (i.e., cashiers and/or higher education) E. Three (3) years of experience with financial reconciliation of student accounts using PeopleSoft student information systems, reporting tools and platforms, and accounting systems F. Five (5) or more years of experience with PeopleSoft Student Information System (student financials, student self-service and student records modules) G. Experience working with excel spreadsheets and word processing software such as Microsoft Office Suite. Special Working Conditions Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidates own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
