Position Description: |
The Department of Classics at The University of Iowa invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Biblical Studies for the 2025-2026 academic year, with the potential to extend up to three years based on instructional needs and satisfactory performance. This is a non-tenure track position. The teaching load is eight courses, or 24 semester hours, per academic year. The successful candidate will have expertise in Hebrew Bible and/or New Testament, experience teaching courses in Biblical Studies, and demonstrated knowledge of Biblical Hebrew and/or Ancient Greek. Education Requirement: |
- Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible, New Testament, or related field at time of appointment.

Required Qualifications: |
- Teaching experience in Biblical Studies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Biblical Hebrew or Ancient Greek.

- Demonstrated knowledge of ancient language(s) other than Biblical Hebrew and Ancient Greek.
- Experience using digital tools and methods in research or teaching.
