The Payroll Manager oversees all functions of the company's U.S. payroll, including but not limited to administration of periodic payroll, oversight of timekeeping activities, and timely payroll tax filings. Manages the payroll team which includes performance management, employee relations, establishing department goals and more. This person works closely with Corporate HR, Divisional HR, IT and Finance. Able to meet deadlines and adapt to changing conditions. Responsible for ensuring payroll is completed accurately and to deadline.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs the payroll department which includes project planning, training and development needs, and ability to meet timelines and deliverables to accommodate growth and new locations
  • Define strategies to improve payroll processes, programs, and system
  • Manages vendor relationships
  • Ensures continued optimization of the cost-effectiveness of the Payroll function
  • Establishes and implements standard policies and procedures in compliance with country, federal and local regulations
  • Oversees calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, etc., to ensure compliance with country, federal and local laws
  • Manages internal and external audits and other reporting requirements
  • Responds to payroll questions and resolves issues or discrepancies as needed
  • Collaborate with local HR to identify opportunities to improve time and attendance management
  • Develop and deliver time and attendance training to supervisors
  • Design/test new time, accrual policies and procedures`
  • Partner with benefit to ensure smooth open enrollment and new vendor set ups
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • ADP Vantage experience preferred
  • ADP E-Time experience preferred
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors a plus
  • Strong business acumen, verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Knowledge in compliance
  • Excellent leadership skills to inspire and develop the team
  • Solid project management skills: ability to organize, prioritize, assess risks, manage resources and achieve milestones and deliverables

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (including Accounting, Business or Human Resources) required
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
  • Requires 10+ payroll experience with multiple pay groups and Federal Employer Identification Numbers (FEINs)
  • Merger and acquisition experience
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • Office work environment
  • Willing to travel 10-15% of the year
