Summary: The Industrial Sales Manager directs the sales development of an assigned segment by directly managing a team of sales professionals with specified account responsibility. The Industrial Sales Manager manages the direct account manager relationships by working closely with multiple departments in developing strategic plans that drive revenue and share growth, promotes the Werner Electric Supply brand, products, and image, supports sales programs and policies, and reports results to management.

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) highly desired or equivalent experience in Sales capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience in direct customer sales
  • Experience managing others (direct or indirect)
  • Experience managing MRO accounts and working with strategic accounts preferred
  • Specific Skills: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), HRIS, CRM.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities.
  • Lead and mentor front-line sales leaders, providing strategic direction, coaching, and support to drive sales performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Direct channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Advise dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients.
  • Meet with key clients, maintain relationships and negotiate and close deals.
  • Coordinate liaison between Sales department and other sales-related units.
  • Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Assist other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Direct product research and development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
  • Recommend or approve budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
