Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |

Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Supervisor of Food Service Maintenance leads the general maintenance and repair of all Facilities Services buildings including 18 different dining and convenience store locations. This position has a strong influence in determining the overall operations of the vendors and oversees contract vendors to ensure continuity of operations and quality of service and operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervision of Food Service Maintenance mechanical trades staff including recruitment, training, oversight of daily performance
- Responds to issues, triages situations, and determines appropriate course of action
- Assesses, plans for, and implements preventative maintenance plans
- Identifies trends and determines budget implications for repair and replacement of equipment
- Purchases equipment and supplies necessary to perform duties
- Works closely with Physical Plant and contractors; oversees and advises the work of contract employees to ensure correct usage and maintenance of equipment as well as safety standards.
This position has been designated as mandatory personnel for the University and maybe required to report to work during adverse weather conditions even though theUniversity may be operating on an alternate schedule. This position may assist in theremoval of snow, ice or debris, as required. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in trade(s) areas assigned; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
Preferred education, professional skills and experience |
- Electrical, HVAC or Plumbing qualification by any authority having jurisdiction.
- 5 years in Food Service equipment industry and/or other building trades.
- 5 years managerial experience

Required Certifications or licensure |
- A valid NC Driver license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment in order to transport equipment which is a necessary function of the position.
- North Carolina Journey certification/Licensure in Electrical or Gas, both hot and cold food service equipment certification. "Serve Safe" training up to date.
