Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is currently looking for a Sr. Project Accountant to join our Southeast Region team. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work remotely and/or in an office alongside a team of dedicated professional engineers, scientists, planners and designers. Our team collaborates with both public and private clients in various industries such as transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy. Additionally, we work closely with federal, state and local governments.

Responsibilities

    Preparation and processing of client invoices and contract documents
  • Client and sub-consultant contract maintenance
  • Assistance with project setup/budgeting; including review of contract compensation and billing methods
  • Maintain project financial records and billing files
  • Provide both internal and external support regarding tracking and collection of project accounts receivable
  • Coordinate with subconsultants and vendors regarding accounts payable
  • Assistance with research & resolution of client questions pertaining to invoicing
  • Support the Finance team and Project Managers with various other finance and contract related tasks

Skills and Attributes

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting/finance/billing principles, methods, and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong project, client, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter who can identify and actively pursue solutions to diligently advance company or client objectives with minimal direction
  • Ability to take on new tasks and adapt to different work assignments and personalities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment with a strong attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Management (experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis)
  • 4+ years of experience (preferably in an Engineering, Architecture or Construction environment)
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision or VantagePoint a plus
  • Georgia or Florida location preference preferred
  • 10% travel required (Our expectation would be a physical office visit to either Tampa/Orlando/Atlanta for 2 days per quarter or as required by the needs of the business)
