Employee & Labor Relations Coordinator

Requirements

The Employee & Labor Relations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), coordinating with relevant departments for issue resolution, and maintaining accurate documentation to support labor relations initiatives. The incumbent also handles the preparation and distribution of remittance reports to the union and ensures timely submission of worker eligibility rosters. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage payroll inputs related to union dues, agency fees, Employee Assistance Fund (EAF), and COPE (Committee on Political Education) deduction.
  • Oversee all aspects of the represented worker population and the record-keeping of all dues authorizations.
  • Draft and issue reports with official findings and proposed solutions to resolve employee relations matters.
  • Support the Human Resources Team on labor relations matters identified by the Director for Employee Relations.
  • Work closely with all members of the HR team, IDEAA, the Office of General Counsel, and other University staff on a variety of matters concerning payroll, and HCM setup issues and procedures.


Work Interactions

The Employee & Labor Relations Coordinator will will report to the University Director for Employee Relations & Engagement and is responsible for maintaining accurate lists of all workers, in collaboration with the various local unions. They will also work closely with HR Client Services, the Office of Institutional Diversity Equity and Affirmative Action (IDEAA), the University's Office of General Counsel, the Office of Compliance and Ethics, and others on a variety of matters concerning this worker population. Under the direction of the Director, the Employee Relations Specialist will also periodically review, assess, and revise, as necessary, employee relations policies and procedures. The Employee & Labor Relations Team is a part of the Human Resources Department which also includes Benefits & Wellness, Human Capital Management, Classification and Compensation, Organizational and Talent Development, Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, University HR Client Services, Employment Services and Recruitment, and the Hoya Kids Child Care Center.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate specialization
  • Three (3) to six (6) years of relevant HR or relevant and applicable work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the application of HR policies and practices
  • Knowledge of labor relations law and practice, state and federal wage, hour laws, and FLSA
  • Strong investigatory skills with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with various levels of management
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to relate to a culturally diverse university community; and to work well under stressful conditions


Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters in related field
  • Higher education experience
  • Familiarity with Workday

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
