MillerKnoll is partnering with the Diversity in Design Internship program to create opportunities that enable college-level prospective Black designers to build a solid foundation of experience, connect with industry professionals, and gain a network that will support them into their careers. https://diversityindesign.com/internships GENERAL PURPOSE MillerKnoll is currently seeking a talented and motivated Intern to join our team in New York City. As a Design Intern, you will work closely with the Senior Directors and project teams to design, coordinate and document through all phases of projects. Candidates must exhibit strong conceptual, design, communication and critical thinking skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Internship We are looking for exceptional designers to assist with design and research for on-going projects. Candidates must be capable of working resourcefully under very tight deadlines. Candidates should also have a strong background in design that is informed by contemporary architecture, art, and culture. They will work closely on teams developing inspiring MillerKnoll branded spaces around the world including contract showrooms, workspaces, retail, and exhibitions. These spaces will reflect the unique essence of MillerKnoll's world-renowned offering and the industry-leading design brands within its collective-including its core iconic brands, Herman Miller and Knoll. QUALIFICATIONS Successful candidates should be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree and/or a Master's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline. OR Currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program in Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline. Desire to be involved in all aspects of a project, from concept to implementation. Rich, diverse experience in architecture, interior design, environmental brand design, or related discipline preferred. Skills and Abilities Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with others. Ability to self-manage and take own initiatives, developing comprehensive work plans, setting goals and executing results. Proficient in design tools including (or able to acquire these skills quickly) SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and similar software. Present design work effectively through verbal, written, 2D & 3D visualization, and graphic techniques Independently working and managing time and output in a distributed team environment. Excellent design, organization, and communications skills. Excellent model making skills Desire to be involved in all aspects of a project, from concept to implementation. A starting compensation range for this role is $12.12 - $74.84. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
