The Role:

We are looking for a driven, experienced Engagement Manager responsible for leading the development and deployment of custom software applications for enterprise clients in the learning and talent space. This role involves managing the day-to-day work of internal Educe business and development team members working to design, develop, and deploy custom software applications. The Engagement Manager is responsible for managing and building relationships with client stakeholders to drive successful projects and enable opportunities for growth.

The Responsibilities:

The position involves working closely with clients and colleagues to do the following:


  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of software application projects that are large in size and complex in nature.
  • Direct the project team to understand business requirements and ensure the timely development of software solutions, on time and within budget.
  • Initiate and foster business partnerships with clients, vendors, and firm leaders.
  • Lead sales development efforts through the identification of client requests and creation of project proposals, including the ability to assess project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Develop relationships that support increasing efficiency and effectiveness, balancing individual client needs with business priorities.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with multiple audiences, project scopes, and teams.
  • Actively manage project plans to ensure deliverables and milestones are met, and projects risks and issues are effectively organized, communicated, and resolved.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define the scope, delivery teams, workstreams, and dependencies for projects, as identified.
  • Align to established firm methodologies for successful project and software management, while leveraging prior experience to identify and define process improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:


  • 5 or more years of Project or Program Management experience, including scope definition, risk assessment, estimating, and reporting.
  • Experience in the design, development, and implementation of one or more enterprise software applications taking projects from conception all the way through to delivery.
  • Experience working on issues that impact design/selling success, future concepts, and product offerings.
  • Experience influencing client leadership to establish overall business relationship and engagement strategy.
  • Ability to assess large, complex problems and break into components with specific actions for team members to drive resolution.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to share learning rationale and creative intent.
  • Ability to negotiate and identify a solution path for multiple/various competing requirements and stakeholder preferences.
  • Ability to fluidly and successfully adapt, navigate, and influence organizational politics.
  • Ability to set vision and drive tactical execution, willing to roll-up the sleeves to complete projects in an environment with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible to and adapt to the dynamic nature of client-driven engagements.
  • Experience and proven ability to facilitate client design sessions both virtually and in person.
  • Excellent working knowledge of project management tools such as Kanban boards and Jira.
  • Experience growing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ideal candidates have experience in learning, compliance, and/or talent management system project management.
  • Experience working in successful startups and/or well-known global brands is preferred.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to multiple client locations and firm meetings.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000

This job is 100% REMOTE, or can be based in our Bethesda, MD, headquarters or New York office.

The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, and face-to-face.
