Under indirect supervision, a Tractor Trailer Operator I (TTO I) operates a wide range of vehicles and equipment (such as mobile cranes, industrial forklifts, and various attachments) to facilitate the movement of freight for the enterprise. This position is responsible for the timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery and pick-up of all assigned material and equipment. The TTO typically operates road tractors with various trailers on a daily basis and loads, unloads, and properly secure a variety of cargo and electrical equipment on a daily basis. This position is responsible for the proper documentation of Logs, Bills of Ladings, Equipment Inspections, Time Reporting, and other required record keeping.

The TTO must adhere to; DOT/FMCSA Regulations, Company Policies, Departmental Policies and Safe Work Practices.

Perform other similar or less skilled work. Position has call-out responsibilities and must be available to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends, or holidays, and in all weather conditions. Requires ability to travel and stay overnight to various locations. TTO's are also required to be available for major storm support in all regions of the enterprise.

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Must have previous job experience primarily driving road tractors and semi-trailers for a minimum of one (1) year

• Valid Florida driver's license

• Valid CDL-A No Restrictions

• Forklift Certification

• Ability meet DOT physical requirements

• Ability to obtain hazardous materials endorsement (HME)

• Demonstrate safe driving record

• Internal candidates must pass (or have passed) required skills demonstration

• Regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

• Performs work in an outdoor environment with extended periods of driving.

• Performs duties during extreme heat, cold and inclement weather (including rain, snow, and ice).

• Prolonged periods sitting/driving in all traffic conditions.

• Work activities frequently involve climbing, twisting, bending, squatting crawling, kneeling, walking, and standing.

• Work activities involve carrying and positioning various cargo securement equipment (chains, tarps, straps, etc.) on level/unlevel surfaces.

• Work activities will require some extended workdays and overnight stays.

• Will be required to be "on-call" following the callout schedule.

• Operation of manual clutch and gears on various vehicles.

• Work activities include reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, and pushing of weights up to 50 lbs.

• Exposure to high stress situations and requirements to be available for emergency response as required by the needs of service.

• Ability to work safely.

• Ability meet DOT physical requirements

• Ability to obtain Hazardous Material endorsement

• Ability to comply with all federal regulations, company policies and departmental policies.
