Finance/Budget Analyst III

The Opportunity:

The Finance/Budget Analyst III will manage budget and provide fiscal support to leadership throughout the Finance Business Center. They will also prepare statements and reports to an assigned area of responsibility, monitor records of past and present operations, and apply university accounting policies and procedures in working with accounting records and reports. The analyst is tasked with assembling, analyzing, and reconciling data and transactions. They will monitor departmental accounts for compliance with applicable regulations and coordinate with the Budget Manager on fiscal compliance related to accreditation for all academic program activities.

Responsibilities:


  • Budget Management: Forecast revenues and expenses for assigned units within the Finance Business Center. Develop and load budgets and associated adjustments into budget management systems.

  • Budget Reporting: Provide specialized financial reporting and analysis. Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy of transactions.

  • Transaction Management: Approve, deny, or return Workday spend transactions for assigned units within the Finance Business Center. Identify appropriate funding sources for various financial and HR Transactions. Prepare, review, or correct workforce funding changes.

  • Payroll Costing: Prepare costing allocations for payroll funding and corrections to payroll funding. Collaborate with HR on workforce funding planning and allocations.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for leadership in assigned units within the Finance Business Center. Provide unit leaders with budgetary guidance.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with financial forecasting, budget development, and financial reconciliations, preferably in Higher Education.

  • Financial management systems, such as Workday or similar ERP.

  • Familiarity with financial regulations and standards, especially those pertaining to academic institutions.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
