Teaching Assistant

Job Summary

Serving as a teaching assistant (TA) is helpful for public health students who are interested in an academic career, as well as those who plan to work in the field. Nearly every job requires the skills that are developed as a teaching assistant, and it is often very rewarding to develop a closer relationship with the faculty member teaching the course.

Essential Functions

• Post materials on Blackboard.
• Run small groups or discussion sections.
• Help grade assignments and exams.
• Provide support for zoom sessions and may be invited to give a lecture in the course.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• A master's degree in public health, social sciences, medicine, bioethics, history of science, or related area is required.

• University City - Philadelphia, PA

Additional Information

This is a part-time, temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
