Position Description

The Javadzadeh Lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for a research technician position starting May 2025.

Successful candidates will be working at the intersection of systems and computational neuroscience. We record, analyze, and model neural population activity in the visual cortex of mice, to understand the mechanisms underlying sensory perception.

Candidates will be trained in advanced experimental neuroscience techniques, including in vivo recordings and neural activity manipulation, using high-density silicon probes and optogenetic tools. They will have opportunities to contribute meaningfully to scientific publications.


Position Requirements

Applicants are expected to have a bachelor's degree in a STEM field. Quantitative background and scientific programming skills (Python or MATLAB) are desirable. Previous neuroscience experience is preferred.

This position is ideal for individuals planning to apply to PhD or MD programs within the next two years who are looking to gain significant scientific research experience.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
