ACU Tech (36 hours per week) # 3241

RAMC Is looking for an ACU tech to join their team. Hours: 6:00AM - 6:00PM 36 hours per week! Schedule: Monday - Friday Weekends: As needed Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. He/she is responsible for providing direct patient care of pre and post-op patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting the RN and providing patient care under the direction of RN. Additional responsibilities include stocking and supplying the unit with supplies. Computer knowledge is beneficial.
Education and Training Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Current BLS certification.

• Minimum: CNA required.
• Valid Driver's License.

Experience:

• Minimum: Medical experience as a CNA.

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work in an acute care patient environment with appropriate technological support.

• Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a calm manner.

• Requires decision-making, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

• Recognizes legal responsibilities and functions as specified by Nurse Practice Act.

• Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Must have an understanding of the physical and emotional stresses that occur with illness and disease and be able to work with individuals under these stresses.

• Must be able to interact and practice in collaboration with a variety of healthcare professionals.

• Must have the ability to motivate people and create a positive work environment.

• Must have the ability to resolve problems quickly and effectively.

• Must display a high degree of emotional maturity while keeping difficult situations in proper perspective.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally sits at desk.
• Frequently lifts up to 100 pounds of materials such as patients and equipment.
• Frequently bend to the floor, squat to handle linen, assist with patient care and retrieve supplies.
