The Submarine and Industrial Base Portfolio, within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. SPA has an immediate need for a Deputy Engineering Program Manager to support client engineering programs in West Bethesda, MD (NSWC Carderock). #MC Responsibilities In this role, you will serve in a deputy program manager capacity as a trusted agent directly supporting client program managers, acting to support all aspects of planning, management, and execution of a growing defense R&D and manufacturing program. In this role, you should expect to act independently and with high initiative, engaging with client leadership and stakeholders to identify needs and take on program challenges. Responsibilities will include working group coordination, financial and schedule management, program strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and participation in key management activities in support of client leadership decision making. This role requires full-time on-site support at the client site facility on NSWC Carderock in West Bethesda, Maryland. In this role, you will apply a working understanding of systems, mechanical, industrial, or other relevant engineering fields to understand complex component development and manufacturing programs, distill relevant information, and recommend leadership courses of action based on both technical and programmatic requirements and factors.
