Summary

The Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Specialist will play a key role in supporting EBP initiatives within the LVHN Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program. This position will concentrate on helping nurse residents choose relevant EBP topics, formulate effective PICO(T) questions, build interprofessional teams, review and synthesize existing literature, select suitable outcome measures, analyze and evaluate the results, and share the project findings. The EBP Specialist will collaborate closely with the Nurse Residency Specialist, the Center for Professional Excellence, and Patient Care Services leadership, and will report directly to the Manager of Transition to Practice.

Job Duties

  • Guides EBP program implementation, management, and evaluation within the Nurse Residency Program.
  • Collaborates with nursing leadership and other members of the healthcare team on EBP initiatives that align with the Network's strategic direction and goals.
  • Ignites the spirit of inquiry and partners with nurse residents to investigate clinical practice questions to advance nursing practice through research and EBP opportunities.
  • Develops and delivers EBP education, tools and resources to meet the educational needs of the nurse residents and EBP Project Facilitators.
  • Mentors nurse residents to present and publish EBP initiatives externally and within the organizations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate clinical profession or education related
  • 2 years evidence-based practice experience. and
  • 3 years education program design with knowledge in adult education principles.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of EBP initiatives, nursing education, and clinical practice.
  • Knowledge of the research process, EBP models and process.
  • Skill in written and oral communication, presentation, and publication.
  • Ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a professional role model.
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire and
  • NPD-BC - Nursing Professional Development-Board Certified - American Nurses Credentialing Center Within 1 Year and
  • BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Upon Hire

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
