Athletic Trainer

The Athletic Trainer (AT) provides performance enhancement, tailored strength and conditioning, preventive maintenance, and referrals to next level medical care if needed.

• The AT will perform the initial evaluation, design individual training programs, and establish records for all fighter aircrew personnel as well as provide prehabilitative services to individual fighter aircrew with the intention to strengthen the core musculoskeletal (MSK) system to enhance resistance to neck and back injury
• The AT will also help design a MSK strengthening and healthy lifestyle education program as part of an overall health maintenance program to enhance injury resistance
• The AT will advise unit commanders and individuals on matters related to injury prevention and identify opportunities for improvement, develop protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP) for fitness programs

Security Requirement:

• Must be able to pass a background check to be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CaC)

Education:

• Master's degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline. (Required)
• Must be a current licensed Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) process.

REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Possess at least two (2) years of demonstrated experience as an Athletic Trainer
• Demonstrated experience with professional and/or collegiate sports

DESIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Possess experience and certification in the field of strength and conditioning through the National Strength and Conditioning Association is strongly recommended
• Possess oral and written communication skills in order to meaningfully interact with peers, outside agencies, vendors providers and Military Health System (MHS) stakeholders to provide briefings, presentations, research, and develop metrics to demonstrate or advance effective and efficient neck and back pain prevention

• Monday to Friday

Work Location:

• In person (Nellis Airforce Base - Las Vegas, Nevada). Must be able to reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
