What You'll Be Doing as a Facilities Maintenance Technician 2:
Perform a wide range of preventative maintenance tasks on building infrastructure and equipment.


  • Perform basic facilities maintenance activities focused on plumbing systems, facility and physical building, office furniture, roofing, water systems, and campus grounds. Clean and perform janitorial tasks.
  • Perform standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems. Assist licensed electricians with repairs as appropriate.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of building equipment and systems. Fabricate parts as needed using various machine tools.
  • Perform quality checks on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Inspect, maintain, and operate fire and life safety systems.
  • Coach, train and provide feedback to less experienced peers.
  • Monitor and initiate personal training to ensure requirements are met for required certifications.
  • Ensure facilities are safe and clean. Observe and report hazardous conditions and recommend improvements. Respond to emergencies.
  • Use Maintenance Management Software to create job tickets and document work assignments and tasks.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company requirements.
  • Deliver professional and courteous customer service.
  • Other tasks as assigned.



Skills and Experiences You'll Need as a Facilities Maintenance Technician 2:


  • High School education or equivalent required and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar or related operation. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
  • Forklift and personnel lift licensed or ability to obtain these licenses.
  • HVAC and LME licenses strongly preferred.
  • Qualified in Lockout.
  • Working knowledge of servos, open and closed loop feedback systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical repair practices, and machine design and operation.
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, etc.
  • General welding; Arc, MIG, TIG, Spot.
  • Familiarity with hanging Unistrut in rafters.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with limited supervision or intervention.
  • Ability to independently solve complex problems with close tolerance electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic math and computer skills.



Work Environment for a Facilities Maintenance Technician 2:
Work takes place in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and chemicals. Ability to use PPE. Ability to stand or sit for long periods. Good manual dexterity, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to use full range of motion. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds with assistance.
