Responsibilities
Arcfield is growing and seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to lead Life Cycle Readiness Management within their customer's COMM Directorate. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to lead systems engineering activities that plan and ensure a systematic and coordinated review and assessment of engineering and acquisition activities to meet the criteria required to successfully complete specified readiness milestones. (Please note, an offer for this position will be contingent on an awarded contract.) Key Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitating and leading reviews to determine the engineering readiness level to proceed to the next phase of an acquisition/readiness milestone
- Ensuring a systematic and coordinated review and assessment process of engineering and acquisition activities to meet the criteria required to successfully complete specified readiness milestones
- Ensuring readiness reviews are used to assess a program's readiness to proceed to the next phase of the acquisition lifecycle
- Supporting and participating in design reviews, trade studies, Technical Exchange Meeting (TEMs), Project Management Reviews (PMRs), shoulder-to-shoulder discussions, architecture reviews, in addition to readiness and programmatic activities in support of Enterprise-level, COMM-Level, System-level, Service-level and project-level milestones
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) support to Readiness Review Teams constituted to assess the Service Provider and Program Office program and acquisition technical and programmatic readiness
- Coordinating/facilitating system artifact review activities, comments, and Review Item Discrepancy (RID) resolutions
- Updating and maintaining the COMM Life-cycle Readiness Management Plan
- Serve as a customer liaison and lead support for business development activities while understanding and shaping requirements
- Lead efforts to ensure requirements comply with client expectations and government standards through formal verification methods
- Execute additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
BS 12-15, MS 10-13, PhD 8-10 Qualifications Required: The ideal candidate must have:
- An Active Top Secret / SCI w/Poly Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Outstanding customer intimacy skills; ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams as well as to interface effectively with personnel at all levels of government
- A commitment to quality, accuracy, continuous improvement, and be detail oriented
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks concurrently
- Strong communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Demonstrated judgment, initiative, and critical thinking to execute mission objectives
- Experience leading efforts to capture new business through technical work and capability briefings
- Experience generating quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics
- Experience establishing and coordinating the development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to overall product development
- Experience reviewing test plans/procedures and ensuring they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participating in the testing process to validate requirements.
- Experience designing interfaces and bringing system elements together, so they work as a whole
- Assessing performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
- The ability to travel as necessary to satisfy assigned tasks
- Flexibility to execute additional duties as assigned
Desired:
- Advanced degrees or certifications in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Experience supporting NRO's COMM Directorate
- Expert level experience designing, researching and developing highly advanced applications, which resultedin new product/business opportunities
