What you'll do:
- Ability to administer managerial courage properly, effectively and as necessary.
- Efficient scheduling of employees to maximize productivity and simultaneously minimize O.T. hours correctly.
- Demonstrated ability to properly monitor and maintain employee productivity and behavior.
- Ensure proper cross-training is both provided and successfully completed, and that all SOP's are correctly followed.
- Take personal ownership of the quality of the candidates hired and ensure that the hiring and interview process is fair and equitable to all. Ensure that the most qualified candidates are selected, properly trained and given the best possible conditions to succeed in their role.
- Accurately and timely monitor all attendance and vacation hours of employees and address any infractions AS THEY OCCUR.
- Ensure that most of each day is invested in working on the floor with employees, setting the example, coaching, mentoring and training.
- Take sole responsibility for the accuracy and timely completion of all work logged in the CMMS system. Minimum of 95% completion rating on PMs in CMMS is expected.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Safety by immediately addressing any safety violations, take any and all required safety training on time, properly report all accidents AND near misses to HR and the Safety Coordinator, ensure all employees are wearing the required PPE at all times, assist the Safety Coordinator in the correct root cause of all accidents, make all necessary changes to ensure a safe work environment for your associates and ensure they all attend required safety training as required.
- Ensure there is an effective plan in place to consistently keep machine downtime to the absolute minimum.
- Ensure that tech training is given to keep all maintenance personnel up to date with the latest technology and maintenance procedures.
- Control department costs.
- Control spare parts and consumables inventory.
- Ensure outside contractors follow Hoya's safe rules of conduct and sign in/out correctly.
- Ensure a self-imposed work schedule throughout the year to be able to work with all crews on all four shifts.
- Ensure the proper removal of Hazardous Waste materials by giving assistance as needed by the Safety Coordinator.
- EFFECTIVELY communicate machine operation variations with the production supervisors, maintenance personnel and/or engineering contact in order to quickly and properly adjust workflow, diagnose problems and/or determine the best route to approach machine repairs.
- Ensure all assigned tools and equipment is audited, properly cared for and stored in an organized manner.
- Put improvement plans in place and provide demonstrated results.
- Proven actions on the floor that will reflect a commitment to quality.
- An ability to understand production numbers to an acumen that shows the ability to react immediately to potential problems, teaches employees how to recognize those problems, then put competent resolutions in place to control those problems.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess the ability to maintain calmness and reason when dealing with emotional issues and demonstrate a calm and professional demeaner when handling employee conflicts.
- Meet customer commitments consistently and adequately communicate any shortcomings on any commitments proactively and professionally.
- Proven ability to focus on conflict resolution without finger-pointing or blame.
- Demonstrated ability to earn the confidence of your employees by listening to them, sharing their ideas and maintaining confidentiality regarding associate matters.
- Actively participate and contribute in leadership meetings.
- Possess the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in all situations.
- Create a culture of responsibility that is objective, equates fairness to all associates, emphasizes openness to opposing views and builds a positive team spirit.
