We are on the lookout for a dynamic professional to lead the development of cutting-edge power systems studies, including load flow analysis, fault current assessments, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash evaluations. If you have a proven track record in power system studies and a passion for specifying, designing, and implementing robust electrical power systems, we want to hear from you.

At Dewberry, you will be part of one of the most esteemed electrical teams in the Raleigh area, comprising over 30 dedicated electrical design professionals. Collaborate with a group of highly skilled experts who are committed to designing the electrical infrastructure that powers healthcare facilities, higher education institutions, and federal campuses.

In this role, you will enhance your technical expertise in microgrids, medium voltage distribution, SCADA, and comprehensive power system studies while delivering a full spectrum of services to our national clients. As a member of the MEPS Infrastructure electrical team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of renewable energy, helping our clients achieve their decarbonization and electrification objectives. Your innovative designs will integrate cogeneration, solar generation, battery energy storage systems, and sophisticated control systems, ultimately enhancing the reliability and resilience of our nation's infrastructure.

Responsibilities

    Provide power systems studies for a variety of public and private clients in the industrial, healthcare, higher education, and water/wastewater markets.
  • Perform EE analysis such as short circuit studies, Arc Flash studies, etc.
  • Meet and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and specialists where required.
  • Prepare electrical engineering calculations, code analysis, reports, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
  • Serve as the Electrical Project Engineer of assigned projects and execute designs with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections of electrical systems.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of progressive design and project management experience, minimum 2+ years performing power system studies.
  • Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in North Carolina
  • Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Well organized, with good understanding of electrical power system software, applicable codes, national standards, and electrical safety.
  • Attend client and contractor meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
