Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Network Telecom Manager with a robust background in traditional telecommunications infrastructure and expertise in cloud-based networking solutions including Azure and cloud migrations to lead our network and telecommunications teams. This role is responsible for overseeing the management, design, and implementation of the organization's network and telecom systems, with a specific focus on migrating and managing infrastructure in Azure. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a deep understanding of cloud-based network architecture, telecom management, and best practices in cloud transition, security, and cost optimization. Key Responsibilities Network & Telecom Management:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's on-premises and cloud network infrastructure, including LAN [WiFi], WAN (MPLS & SD-WAN), VPN, mobile networks and telecom systems. This includes ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Oversee telecommunications systems, including VoIP, unified communications, and call center infrastructure, ensuring reliability and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, SLAs, and resolve service issues.
- Manage network operations, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
Cloud Migration & Azure Expertise:
- Plan and execute the migration of on-premises network resources to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions, ensuring secure and seamless integration between on-premises and Azure environments.
- Utilize Azure-native services and tools to monitor, optimize, and secure cloud infrastructure for compliance and performance.
- DevOps Practices - Familiarity with DevOps principles and automation tools (e.g. Azure DevOps) to manage cloud deployments.
- Financial Acumen - Ability to analyze cloud expenditure and make data-driven recommendations for cost optimization.
Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with telecom and cloud service providers.
- Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Act as the primary liaison for escalations, ensuring prompt issue resolution.
- Evaluate vendor performance regularly and recommend improvements or alternative solutions.
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute network and telecom strategies that align with business objectives.
- Lead a team of network and telecom engineers, ensuring skill development and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to plan and implement upgrades, migrations, and innovations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, cybersecurity, and business units, to align on priorities and deliverables.
- Stay updated on emerging telecom and cloud technologies to recommend improvements and incorporate into the organization's roadmap.
- Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in telecom/networking, including cloud integration with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Demonstrated success in managing traditional telecom systems and implementing cloud networking solutions.
- Demonstrable expertise in Microsoft Azure, especially in networking and cloud infrastructure management (including hybrid networks).
- Proficient in Azure networking services, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, Virtual Network (VNet) Peering, SD-WAN and Network Security Groups.
- Solid understanding of firewalls, routing, switching, network security, and telecom protocols (e.g., SIP, VoIP).
- Expertise in routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and other traditional technologies (SIP, MPLS, DNS).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions and cloud-native tools.
- Familiarity with VoIP, SIP Trunks, and Unified Communications platforms.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- ITIL Foundation or similar
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively and focus on team development.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
