  • Viatris is searching for a dynamicInternto join our US Medical Affairs group for 16 weeks (40 hours per week) paid summer internship. TheUS Medical Affairs Internwill have the opportunity to work directly with Medical Directors, field Medical Science Liaisons, Medical Information and other Medical Affairs staff. The Intern will have the opportunity to interact across multiple departments to gain the knowledge of how other functions impact Medical Affairs and how the role Medical Affairs supports other functions. These responsibilities will involve working on deliverables which generates and disseminates clinical and medical data to internal and/or external stakeholders. The intern will also be responsible for meeting with each function across the Medical Affairs organization, identifying a project that fills a need for the department and aligns with the intern's interests (i.e., work on publications, medical innovation, etc.)

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Gain an understanding of Viatris' portfolio and pipeline and the specifics of the clinical data for each program.

  • Medical Information: provide support of Medical Information related activities for pipeline and marketed products.

  • Scientific Communications: Gain an understanding of the US scientific communications and publication processes/requirements/best practices.

  • Field Medical: Understand the role of the Medical Science Liaisons (MSL), possibly participate in field visits, virtually, where appropriate, understand the Compliance landscape of the MSL and identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration.

  • Scientific Training and Development: Develop global product and disease state training materials and resources.

  • Patient Advocacy: Gain an understanding of the compliance guidelines for engaging with patients and patient advocacy organizations as well as the patient advocacy strategy for the various communities.

  • Attend relevant cross-functional team meetings, virtually, to gain a greater insight of the role of Medical Affairs.

  • Gain an understanding of the pharmaceutical advertising and promotional review process, FDA/OPDP guidelines, and PhRMA regulations that govern the promotion of pharmaceuticals and the role of Medical Affairs.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • The successful candidate will be currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Pharmacy. A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.

  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English is required.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Gantt chart development.

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, inquisitive, creative, problem-solving in nature.

The salary range for this position is: if pursuing Bachelor's degree = $20/hour, if pursuing Master's degree = $25/hour, if pursuing Doctorate degree = $30/hour.
