JOB OVERVIEW: Supports BDG master data governance as well as product and labeling compliance assistance. Manages and accounts for SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) functionality, upgrade and initial system deployment with IT support. Maintains true source of material masters, formulations, and specifications of ingredient, packaging, WIP and finished goods in PLM. Engages in regulatory analysis, interpretation, risk assessment and development of regulatory information including, but not limited to, ingredient statements and all regulatory compliance and information required for the marketing of retail products across a broad product portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engages in the deployment of SAP PLM system through collaborative activities such as super-user testing scripts, functional team meetings, user training, issue reporting and build "what if" scenarios.
- Supports product scientist in generating and reviewing change records (project brief) and recipes in PLM.
- Generates specifications in uniform format for new products and/or materials such as ingredients and packaging within PLM.
- Maintains supplier's technical and compliance documents current in PLM; collaborates with internal and external contacts to ensure data in PLM are accurate.
- Develops and maintains PLM user manuals for "super-users"; train-the-trainer role for PLM.
- Generates work-flow approval process and facilitates documentation specification in PLM as directed.
- Generates mandatory labeling and allergen information for packaging/graphic/PR material development.
- Assist in label review ensure that all product data, claims, and marketing materials follow internal, state, federal, and international regulations as directed.
- Assists in product certification process such as filing product as certified "gluten free".
- Respond all technical enquires related to all BDG global retail products.

- Associate's Degree
- 2 years of food/beverage compliance experience or food production/operations support experience
- Process management experience
- Strong analytical and documentation management skills to trouble shoot application issues of data accuracy and its utilization.
- Able to read, analyze and interpret complex documentation from various sources such as product and nutrition information, government regulation and ordinance, business related document with graphs and charts, public scientific journals and literature and/or global food law articles and updates.
- Excellent verbal, comprehension and written communication skills to deliver clear message & idea to recipients.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES (Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Chemistry or Business Administration.
- Experience supporting the development of agricultural products.
- Project management, quality management, regulatory experience, quality management, regulatory affairs, technical report writing, and ingredient sourcing experience.
- Position requires long hours of sitting/standing in front of computer monitor(s) conducting research and typing.
- Experience working with cross functional business teams to obtain and share technical information to drive result.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lift samples or lab supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Primarily office work. At times hands on work in a food development laboratory and manufacturing environment may be required. The incumbent must to be able to climb stairs/ladders and work on elevated platforms.
