JOB OVERVIEW:

The Sales Director - Canada, will be directly accountable for leading Blue Diamond's development and growth for the Canadian market. The successful candidate will be responsible for accelerating the presence of our beloved products across key retailers and all channels in collaboration with our broker and distributor partners.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong entrepreneurial skills complimented by a high level of business acumen. The candidate must be highly capable of leveraging insights and analytics to provide vetted category solutions for our current and future customers. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation and communication skills, highly motivated and will work well independently with agility. We are seeking candidates with proven experience in accelerating new markets for leading brands with success. The successful candidate will work well independently while also able to utilize their influence to leverage the full strength of the Blue Diamond organization to ensure success.
Additional accountabilities will include representing Blue Diamond's Canadian operations in Global strategic planning/reporting, annual operating planning/reporting, trade fund investment/reporting, demand planning & collaboration with cross functional teams on all matters relating to commercialization in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Successful delivery of aggressive volume, revenue and profit targets and associated KPI's in the Canadian market.
  • Providing business updates to senior leadership on progress including full reporting on analytics/financials.
  • Development of strategy and tactics to accelerate market performance.
  • Maximize the collaboration and performance of brokers & distributors.
  • Maintain and leverage relationships with key customers and partners in the market.
  • Strategic utilization of JBP's, line reviews, ideation sessions, new product launches, shopper marketing programs, display, media, and trade shows to drive growth for the brand.
  • Collaboration on pricing strategy, trade spend and revenue management.
  • Monitor data and analytics related to brand health and performance across the markets to ensure appropriate attention/awareness of product portfolio and develop action plans within the region when there are gaps or opportunities.
  • Accountable for line extension/innovation forecasting and communication/alignment for Canada.
  • Participation in key marketing/trade/commercial planning meetings.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years multi-channel retail sales experience at National Account or Director level. Preferably within national CPG.
  • Experience in a team selling environment preferably with broker partners
  • Experience with distributor models
  • Experience calling on Canada's largest retail customers at all levels
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with strong communication, negotiation, analytical and relationship-building skills
  • Highly motivated, strategic with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Remote position; flexibility to travel as needed to the US and throughout Canada

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage complex situations to a positive resolution.
  • Strong business acumen, including an understanding of local markets, financial and commercial models.
  • Analytically minded with an eye for process improvement.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills, ability to effectively articulate complex issues across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders build trust and collaborate cross-functionally
