About the Job

This is a position within the Credit Risk Management organization. The position is responsible for identification, measurement, and management of risk; development and implementation of sustainable controls; development and maintenance of reporting and analytics; and development or maintenance of effective risk management policies and programs, reporting, training and testing to fulfill Key's strategic objectives while operating within defined risk appetite. Additional responsibilities include management and communication of regulatory intelligence items and review and challenge of third-party vendors. This position will also engage and consult with First Line of Defense Business Risk and Controls and partners across the organization to develop and implement consistent risk management standards and processes across the business.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide guidance and assistance to develop and implement the risk and control quality assessments and related risk profiles, including risk, control, test and risk metric design in accordance with defined standards.
  • Support Second Line of Defense partners with credit risk metric monitoring, changes, and reporting
  • Actively participate in department projects and contribute ideas to increase efficiencies and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Validate, monitor, and provide guidance on findings, remediation plans, and exception requests, escalating risks and issues outside of risk appetite, as applicable.
  • Assist Manager in providing overall monitoring and oversight of risk, along with periodic reporting to senior management, risk review and regulators.
  • Participate in pre-regulatory exam preparation activities including collecting and tracking information requests.
  • Test Credit Risk Management risk and control processes, as needed, and lead or support special risk mitigation projects, business continuity and other incident response and security related activities.
  • Assist in the execution of supplementary reviews and assessments as warranted to identify risks and/or maintain control design/monitoring sustainability.
  • Assist in the completion of the quarterly risk profile.
  • Gain and maintain a working understanding of applicable regulations and laws, industry trends, and emerging issues and themes
  • Regularly identify, assess, and perform gap analysis for regulatory intelligence tasks and communicate relevant items to appropriate parties
  • Assist with monitoring and managing Credit Risk second line of defense review and challenge for third party vendors
  • Develop presentations to synthesize Second Line of Defense analysis and action plans. Presentrisk analyses and findings to management.
  • Build and sustain positive working relationships with First Line of Defense Business Risk and Controls, line of business and credit risk executives, managers and teams, while developing an understanding of the business and strategic objectives.
  • Other and ad-hoc duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience with emphasis on business and risk management or audit preferred.
  • Minimum 2 or more years of banking industry knowledge with experience in one or more of the following preferred: credit, compliance, audit, or risk management.
  • Self-motivated with strong organization skills and ability to manage high level projects and competing priorities with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient use of personal computers including use of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and various web-based software applications.
  • Familiarity with systemic testing strategies and reporting.
  • Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, decision making and ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and accountability with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with external and internal clients including executive managers, along with building and sustaining collaborative relationships.
  • Solid written and communication skills and ability to "sell" difficult/complex concepts.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $70,000 to $90,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
