AESC is looking to add a Facility Purchasing Buyer to our team in Florence, SC.

AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational since 2012, produces batteries for Nissan. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. What You Will Do

1 .Purchase Order and Delivery Management

  • Execute procurement strategies for Indirect materials and services, including administrative services, EHS related facilities & services, MRO consumables, tools, equipment, services.
  • Issue purchase orders based on departmental requisitions, overseeing supplier inquiries, price comparisons, negotiations, order placements, tracking deliveries.
  • Ensure the timely performance and delivery of materials, lead supplier communications, and oversee issues related to rectification, returns, and exchanges.
  • Propose supplier longlist, RFx and sourcing process, supplier onboarding, evaluation, negotiation, risk reduction and selection, PO creation and release.

2. Supplier Development

  • Seek and develop high-quality suppliers by leveraging market information and resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive supplier information records.

3. Cost Control.

  • Formulate category-specific procurement strategies to implement cost reduction initiatives and achieve financial targets.
  • Conduct regular analyses of material prices and consumption, providing insights on cost fluctuations through detailed reporting.

Qualifications
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, other business/commerce related, or Buyer or Supply Chain Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement.
  • Project management, Opex experience, time management, proactivity, problem solving, resolution, forward thinking, country sourcing, follow instructions, stakeholder management, excellent communication, flexibility and curiosity.
  • SAP experience or knowledge, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, Outlook.
  • Tactical & Strategic procurement.
  • Excellent planning, organization, coordination, and analytical abilities, coupled with a high level of professionalism and collaborative spirit.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
What is "Nice to Have"?
  • Buyer or Supply Chain Certification.
Travel

Occasional domestic and international travel required
