We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Engineering Manager who will partner with Product to define the product roadmap and technical strategy for several teams that support the Rave Mobile Safety suite. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and leadership skills to help modernize and evolve our architecture and integrate the technology into a broader platform. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers, across multiple teams and locations, and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites. Responsibilities

  • Be both highly technical and an effective people manager

  • Be a subject matter expert in a product domain

  • Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area

  • Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy

  • Drive roadmap creation and execution

  • Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level

  • Participate in technical design

  • Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals

  • Work effectively with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes

  • Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization

  • Oversee systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and review product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with proven experience partnering with and communicating highly technical concepts and roadmaps to stakeholders

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role, with 3+years of experience in a people management or a supervision/team leadership role. Experience in hiring, mentoring and leading engineers

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java.. etc.)

  • Track record of being part of teams that have shipped compelling technologies across multiple product release cycles

  • Experience building large scale distributed systems, working with microservices and/or distributed architecture

  • Problem solver - able to work under minimal supervision and team player

  • Good verbal and written English communication.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experienced in managing the end to end software lifecycle

  • Experience in developing and shipping applications on public cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure)

  • A good understanding of enterprise architecture principles and/or experience with large-scale database technology

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related fields.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning.

Target Base Salary Range:$108,800 USD - $217,600 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Note: Candidate must be in the office 1-2 days per weeks

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelors degree with 10+ years of development and technical experience

  • AND 5+ years of Java experience

  • AND 3+ years of direct people management experience
