RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Clinical Review Nurse to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Clinical Review Nurse, you will be responsible for performing a variety of nursing/clinical and customer service support tasks such as answering telephone calls, screening & assessing patients for PET scans, scheduling patients, and collecting / coordinating medical necessary documents. Monitors and maintains Schedule Records and performs other related duties as required.

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(60%) Patient Care

• Greets patients in a professional and friendly manner and assist patients with registration materials as required
• Explains procedures to patient to gain cooperation and understanding, and reduce apprehension
• Screen and assess patients prior to procedure for any precautions or contra-indications
• Obtains all necessary patient information and demographics that pertain to the current exam including previous x-rays, charts and medical records
• Appropriately contacts patient to review a baseline assessment, explain PET procedures, provide patient education
• Serves as a patient liaison

(25%) Scheduling

• Assists with answering phone calls in the scheduling center
• Prioritize the dissemination of scheduling information according to physician order, hospital site, and timeliness
• Reviews Medical Records and interprets information critical for proper PET utilization guidelines as determined by various insurance policies
• Monitors and maintains schedule records accurately
• Forwards all necessary documents in an accurate and timely manner
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorization (if required) by contractual or non-contractual agencies or insurance carriers

(10%) Administrative & Staff Support

• Composes and types correspondence, memorandums, reports and tables
• Performs preventive maintenance on all front office and secretarial related equipment and reports all problems or breakdowns immediately to the supervisor
• Assists in cross-training scheduling personnel to become proficient in ancillary areas as requested by supervisor

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Required:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with current appropriate state license
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• BLS and ACLS
• 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic
