About the DDM Fellowship Program:

The Dotdash Meredith Fellowship Program runs from June 2025 to May 2026. The program offers candidates the opportunity to gain experience working full-time in the office with some of our most popular brands. Fellows work full-time and earn $18/hr.

About the Team:

Located in Des Moines, Iowa, is the Dotdash Meredith Test Kitchen and Content Studios, a state-of-the-art facility featuring 10 test kitchens, 6 photo studio kitchens, a prop room, an outdoor grill/BBQ station and a showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Powered by a talented team of test kitchen professionals, stylists, and photographers, the Dotdash Test Kitchen and Content Studios is the country's premier creative hub, producing thousands of world class recipes, images and related content annually for Dotdash Meredith's print, digital, and social platforms.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assist the Kitchen Coordinator with the market order and grocery shopping for the Test Kitchen and Photo Studios

  • Develop and test recipes across Dotdash Meredith print and digital brands. Deliver fully annotated recipes in style, including content deliverables, nutritional analysis, and photos for each project.

  • Assist Food Stylists with recipe preparation for photo shoots and learn the art of food styling

  • Ensure organization of workspaces and stock ingredients before recipe preparation for testing of recipes and food shoots.

  • Keep accurate records of expenses and file receipts, as directed by the Kitchen Coordinator

  • Stay abreast of current cooking trends, cookbooks, and competitors in the food space

About You:

Candidates for this role should have or be:

  • B.S., B.A., Culinary degree or equivalent professional cooking experience

  • Proficient with recipes: in writing according to style and able to troubleshoot a recipe just by reading it. You have a strong knowledge of food, including a range of cuisines, techniques and equipment. You have social media savvy and are excited about digital trends

  • Creative and Scientific: You care deeply about the way food looks and tastes and enjoy both the artistic and methodical aspects of creating food and recipe content. You love to geek-out about the latest culinary accessories and have fun putting equipment to the test

  • The Ultimate Team Player: no job is too big; no job is too small. You are willing to do anything to help the team get the job done, and your ego never gets in the way

  • A multitasker: When it comes to juggling multiple projects at once, you're a pro; you anticipate needs before they arise

  • Flexible: Highly adaptable to supporting frequent changes in direction and workflow
