Job Overview

The User Experience Design Advisor plays a crucial role in shaping the user experience design for Macy's Inc.'s digital business. They contribute to realizing the strategic vision of Macy's and Bloomingdale's by creating engaging user experiences. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, they deliver elegant, world-class designs. They excel in solving business goals and user needs, collaborate across functions, and utilize research and data to inform their design decisions. Additionally, they fulfill other assigned duties.

What You Will Do



  • Design domain experiences that align with business goals and user needs, including KPIs and user success metrics.
  • Collaborate effectively with managers, product managers, engineers, and researchers to define, conceptualize, and design user-facing products.
  • Partner with the UX leadership team to define the domain experience and ensure deliverables align with the user experience design vision.
  • Design for web, mobile apps, and in-store environments, ensuring a consistent user experience across different platforms.
  • Address domain design challenges comprehensively, from conceptualization to execution: conceptualize new products and features, design storyboards, workflows, interactions, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups based on business goals and user research.
  • Work closely with the domain UX Manager and UX Lead to ensure deliverables adhere to the overall design system.
  • Demonstrate regular, dependable attendance, and punctuality.



Skills You Will Need

User Experience Design: Ability to design domain experiences that align with business goals and user needs, including KPIs and user success metrics.

Collaboration: Effective collaboration with managers, product managers, engineers, and researchers to define, conceptualize, and design user-facing products.

Strategic Partnership: Capability to partner with the UX leadership team to define the domain experience and ensure deliverables align with the user experience design vision.

Multi-platform Design: Proficiency in designing for web, mobile apps, and in-store environments, ensuring a consistent user experience across different platforms.

Problem Solving: Aptitude to address domain design challenges comprehensively, from conceptualization to execution, based on business goals and user research.

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize tasks, and communicate timelines to team members.

Ownership Mentality: Desire and capability to take ownership of products/projects and drive them to successful outcomes.

Creativity: Capacity to think creatively, strategically, and technically to solve design challenges.

Technical Communication: Skill in effectively sharing technical information and communicating technical issues and solutions to all levels of the business.

Mobile and Web Design Knowledge: Proficient in designing for mobile apps and responsive web experiences.

User Interface Design: Familiarity with user interface design processes and methodologies, including user-centered design principles.
