Key Position Details: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2-week pay period) 8-hour day shifts No weekends--No major Holidays Job Description: Assists physicians during dissections and delivers sections to Histology Lab. Maintains organization of all files (slides, Kodachromes, photos, heart and surgical specimens, reports, etc.), and cleanliness of lab, photo, and storage areas. Assists with reception duties when needed. Principle Responsibilities Assists pathologist in dissection procedures. Labels histology cassettes under the supervision of a pathologist. Delivers and retrieves histology slides. Bags and hangs specimens. Prepares specimens for view by physicians, medical device engineers, and students. Lab management. Performs routine duties including; logging, copying, and retrieving specimens. Compiles data, materials, and specimens as requested. Cleans and organizes lab, photo, and storage areas, which includes disposal of waste materials. Administrative duties. Assists with reception duties as needed. Stocks all necessary supplies. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a science related field or pre-med Physical Demands Light Work: Lifting weight Up to 20 lbs. occasionally, Up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $17.06 to $23.24 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
