We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate, Regulatory Analysis and Reporting to join our External Reporting team. This role is located in New York, NY HYBRID. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Role is a combination of approximately 80% regulatory reporting and 20% Accounting
- Responsible for assisting in preparation of daily net capital requirements reports and weekly customer reserve reporting for a full-service securities trading broker dealer (15c3-1 and 15c3-3 reports)
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly FOCUS Report 15c3-1
- Assist in the preparation of the FOCUS supplemental regulatory reports and operational charges and securities haircuts.
- Preparation of the daily 4210 capital charge and SIPC Report
- Assist with the financial close process.
- Activities may include processing standard general ledger events and transactions, assisting with continuous improvement activities such as the identification and analysis of exceptions, providing support for audits, completing assignments to support the maintenance of the control environment, fulfilling ad hoc requests in accordance with global, regional and country-specific process standards and completing process improvements.
- Responsible for posting journal entries to the general ledger accounts accurately, completely and in a timely manner. With little guidance, performs reconciliations of general ledger accounts or other financial data.
- Reviews and/or approves journal entries and/or reconciliations completed by less experienced professionals. Participates in assignments across lines of business, legal entities and geographies that have an impact on internal and external reporting, accounting and accounting processes.
- No direct reports. May review work completed by less experienced staff. Contributes to the achievement of the assigned line of business, legal entity or entities, country, region or accounting process' objectives. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting and finance concepts and analysis techniques preferred.

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $56,000 and $95,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
