Safety & Training Manager

The Safety & Training Coordinator position's primary duty is to investigate and record accidents and injuries at branches. This position decides when drivers may resume driving and whether a driver has the ability to operate a company vehicle. This position uses the Smith System to retrain employees after workplace accidents or injuries occur and administer training for new hires. This position also collaborates with department heads on strategies for repeat offenders. * Actively promote a culture of safety within Ben E. Keith by developing, administering, and tracking the results of safety programs * Form and manage a safety committee that reviews policies and procedures * Report all cases of incidents with Corporate office; review and submit reports * Investigate cases of incidents to identify potential hazards in order to mitigate future occurrences * Identify incident trends, investigate potential causes, and make recommendations for improvement * Administer Smith System Driver Training for all incoming employees; additionally, administer program for employees involved in vehicular incidents * Maintain and update files on equipment and training certifications * Maintain the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and ensure compliance * Consistently demonstrate and model good management and self-management practices in support of Ben E. Keith culture * Project a friendly, professional image at all times * Prioritize multiple, competing priorities * OSHA Compliance * Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

* All applicants hired by Ben E. Keith Beverages are required by the State of Texas to obtain two TABC licenses * Excellent performance in previous BEK career path positions * Ability to learn and use relevant internal computer applications * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) * Ability to work in a fast paced environment * Able to coordinate multiple activities and follow through with commitments * Good oral and written communication skills and participate well in a team environment * Must be highly motivated and results oriented, with a strong attention to detail * Must be organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities * Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations * Must be able to read and write English * Must be 18 yrs. or older to apply * Must have a valid State driver's license with clean driving record * Basic computer skills preferred * Must able to lift 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear * Bachelor's degree or its equivalent preferred but not required

Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.
