Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Continuous Improvement Engineer
position supports the implementation, standardization, and alignment of TriMas
Operating System across Monogram Aerospace Fastener to improve costs, quality,
and service quantitatively and qualitatively.
Use Lean Six
Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational
excellence. This role is involved in planning, scheduling, and implementing
continuous improvement activities (such as Kaizen) on the production floor of a
manufacturing facility. It involves constantly looking for ways to improve
processes, products and performance by identifying problems, implementing
solutions and measuring results.

Essential Functions
Implement TPM, VSM, SPS and promote utilization of key process tools throughout the two facilities to identify and eliminate unfavorable gaps in performance tied to business KPI's. (Productivity Savings)
Develop and deploy DMS using structured problem solving A4 Methodology.
Ability to lead, engage and train employees on TOS and continuous improvement methodologies including but not limited to 6 Sigma, 5S. Lean, OEE and others. Partner with HR leadership on broader training plans and processes.
Responsible for discrete categories of OEE opportunity including tracking downtime results, improving data integrity and developing improvement plans based on the data.
Measure system support to ensure the operations is highlighting the right issues and assigning employees to continually address the root causes of the biggest issues impacting performance.
Establish and manage systems for "right first time" performance philosophy.
Provide leadership and develop direct report with a clear sense of direction and focus.
Supports safety as a top priority in training, job design and regulatory compliance.

The pay scale for this position ranges from $85,000-$105,000 annually.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Proficiency in methodologies and tools such as
Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 6-S, A-3 problem-solving, Lean Six Sigma
(LSS)/DMAIC, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Kanban, Flow principles, and
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a
fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Six Sigma certifications, such as Green Belt
or Black Belt, are strongly preferred.

Travel

Travel is primarily
local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight
travel may be expected.

Physical
Demands:

Alternate between
sitting and standing, exposed to higher noise levels when on the manufacturing
floor, occasionally lift 25-30 pounds.
