Job Description

  • Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.
  • Ensures operational goals are met in the areas of Safety, Quality Delivery, Cost, and Team (SQDCT).
  • Responsible for inventory, cycle counts, WIP accuracy, and material accuracy.
  • Forecast operational needs weeks to months in advance. Identify issues and be able to build a recovery plan.
  • Drive accountability with leads and techs to assure build plan and safety stocks are met.
  • Support and lead continuous improvements in the areas of SQDCT. Responsible for Board / Communication updates.
  • Observe, support, & contribute to Company safety programs, policies & initiatives. Implement and continually monitor safe work practices in areas of responsibility. Conduct required safety & environmental audits, 5S audits, JHA assessments, identify hazards, and assure that all other employees follow safe work practices.
  • Working supervisor with some time delegated to administrative duties.
  • Track and forecast daily / weekly / monthly production, give updates daily and identify problems.
  • Ensure the flow of subcomponents through the cell " bottle necks"
  • Schedule Attainment with outside support operations, i.e. Weaving, Molding, Machining, Quality, Shipping, etc.)
  • Write MRs as well as work with Engineers to clear parts from MR as needed.
  • Observe, support & contribute to company safety programs, policies & initiatives
  • Provide work direction to workers assigned to the work cell, coordinate vacation and lunch/break coverage, obtain overtime coverage as approved
  • Troubleshoot and assist in solving production problems utilizing root causes analysis tools as appropriate
  • Coordinate and provide training of Technicians. This also includes interviewing of potential candidates.
  • Contribute to process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Housekeeping and organization (5S) of the work cell
  • Raw materials & general supplies needed are present at each work station and surplus materials are properly stored. Responsible for creating purchase requisition and staying within budgets.
  • Ensure proper completion of production and traceability documentation is present at all work stations
  • Set-up and operate key equipment in work cell. Help in establishing, implementing, and sustaining; TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
  • SAP transactions including but not limited to; Migo, Co11N, MMBE, MD04
  • Troubleshoot and assist in solving inventory issues; Halb/ ROH counts, min/ max materials, variance reports
  • Provide input in quarterly review process
  • Follow Leader Standard Work
  • Lead Start-up Meeting (Tier 1) when needed
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed during: Safety Incidents, Evacuation, Inclement Weather


Supervisory responsibility: Yes

Supervisors are responsible for overseeing their work group including but not limited to: formal evaluations/performance management as set out by the organization, recruitment and developing group cohesion.

Qualifications/Characteristics



  • Exhibits strong math skills addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, and decimals.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and follow training materials and work instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of MSDS and their use.
  • Proper use of safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Good supervision skills - communication, coordination, recognition, coaching, accountability, leadership
  • Ability to work 24/7 schedule and overtime as needed
  • Basic computer skills
  • Relevant Work Experience: Worked in a manufacturing environment
  • Education: AS in Technical curriculum highly preferred. Minimum High School Graduate with relevant work experience.
  • Experience may be substituted for education at management's discretion if the candidate has demonstrated the knowledge necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Lean training or experience desired.
  • Work Experience: Manufacturing leadership strongly preferred. Operational Lead for 2 years or equivalent work experience.


Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, overtime dependent on business need.

Physical requirements

Frequent repetitive hand movements, use of hand tools - pliers, sanders, scissors, etc.

Frequently remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time

Must be able to detect and recognize visual differences between materials or parts, etc.

Frequently moves molds and parts >25 lbs. between work tables and carts
