Department Overview

Enterprise Planning's vision is to deliver our True North Strategy through the alignment and optimization of day-to-day operations with PG&E's long term strategic goals. The Enterprise Planning organization leads the company's end to end enterprise planning process, orchestrating from internal planning processes through external regulatory proceeding development.

Position Summary

The Director, Business Plan Deployment is a leader under the Enterprise Planning organization, who leads the delivery and quality of the enterprise planning process at PG&E. This is a highly visible strategic planning role that works cross functionally across the company, partnering closely with leadership across all areas, including Operations, Engineering, and Finance to achieve PG&E's long term strategic objectives.

The Director partners with senior leaders in the development of both detailed 2 year plans and multi-year strategic plans. This role is responsible for leading and facilitating executive decision making on investment and resource allocation, process governance, continuous improvement, and communication; drives senior level partnerships across key departments; and ensures plans and programs deliver strategic, financial, and operational plans and goals.

The role is classified as hybrid (2-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require.

Reporting Relationship

Reports into the Senior Director, Enterprise Planning.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create continuity between various PG&E planning processes and alignment with regulatory processes and major projects/investments.
  • Develops new processes and drives process improvements, utilizing including lean problem solving plays
  • Determines, implements, and governs standards related to enterprise planning process
  • Leads change management and communications related to enterprise planning processes
  • Develops deep understanding of business drivers and financial levers to provide strategic decision support
  • Leads the development of the six-year Strategic Plan
  • Leads and provides consultation to model work and financial performance under various regulatory scenarios, and resource constraints.
  • Partners with leaders across the LOB to review operational and financial information and to delivery high quality executable plans.
  • Leads and influences staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition

Compensation

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $178,000

Bay Area Maximum: $304,000

Background Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of job-related experience
  • 4 years of supervisory/managerial experience

Desired

  • Master's Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in Enterprise Planning or similar function at a large corporation
  • Process improvement and Lean experience
  • Utility, energy, or regulatory industry experience; broad knowledge of electric, gas, and generation utility construction, maintenance, resource planning, regulatory compliance, system inspections and safety best practices
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to effectively develop and deliver executive level presentation and articulate vision, goals, and strategies to internal and external audiences.
  • Knowledge of project management and change management concepts and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration and influence with varying levels of employees and leaders
