We are seeking a skilled Accountant for a role within our Americas accounting group. This position is responsible for performing professional accounting activities which may include posting, summarizing, reconciling, auditing, ledger maintenance, and statement and/or report preparation.The position may be based in Skokie, ILand reports to the Senior Manager, DRIV US/Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Analyze and prepare journal entries at month end, quarter end, and year end close, including intercompany transactions
  • Analyze and prepare balance sheet reconciliations at month end, quarter end, and year end close.
  • Coordinate completion of Corporate Accounting Review deck
  • Interact and communicateregularly with operations, human resources, engineering, logistics, as well ascorporate in order to enhance or improve current processes.
  • Support for the timely completion of financial statements and subsequent reporting to Tenneco management.
  • Supports adherence to internal audit policies and procedures and ensures compliance to internal controls, including overseeing the annual self-testing process
  • Assist in providing support for internal and external audits
  • Assist in the enforcement and tracking of month end close deadlines, including reconciliation and journal entry checklists
  • Prepare and send out America's reconciliation checklist
  • Maintains departmental efficiency regarding timeliness and quality of reports and procedural requirements.
  • Create ad hoc reports, analysis and special projects as required bymanagement.
  • Maintain inter-departmental relationships at a caliber to promote confidence, integrity, and cooperation.



EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:




  • Three to Five years of accounting/finance experience with increasing responsibility
  • Cost Accounting experiencepreferred
  • Knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Good understanding of accounting mechanics
  • Familiar with SOX and internal controls
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills necessary to interface with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience
  • Demonstrated experience with large ERP systems, ideally SAP and OneStream
  • Ability to prioritize multiple conflicting requestsappropriately
  • Abilityto work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience within the automotive industry preferred



Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $80,000 - $110,000. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
