The Senior Sales Engineer is integral to achieving sales targets, advancing the company's market presence, and delivering high-value solutions to oil and gas operators.

Detailed Description:

Sales and Customer Relationship Management:



  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key customers to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term business growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate new markets and applications within existing accounts.
  • Lead customer meetings and presentations to showcase product performance, technical solutions, and service capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing technical and commercial inquiries promptly.


Technical Expertise and Drilling Optimization:



  • Provide advanced technical support to customers, analyzing drilling performance data and recommending optimizations to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to tailor PDC drill bit designs to meet specific application requirements.
  • Conduct detailed performance studies and post-run analyses to ensure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.


Product Development and Innovation:



  • Act as a bridge between customers and the product development team, conveying field insights and customer feedback to drive innovation.
  • Participate in the testing and validation of new PDC drill bit designs, ensuring they meet technical and performance standards.
  • Recommend product standardization or obsolescence based on market demands and application trends.


Leadership and Mentorship:



  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior sales engineers, fostering their technical and professional development.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating best practices for sales techniques, technical support, and customer engagement.
  • Contribute to team training initiatives, ensuring consistent knowledge sharing across the sales organization.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed regional sales targets.
  • Prepare detailed reports and forecasts on sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote products and build professional networks.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and ethical standards.



Job Requirements:



  • Advanced technical knowledge of drilling applications and PDC drill bit products.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and drilling analysis software.
  • Physical ability to perform job functions, including bending, stooping, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, drilling optimization, or a related role in the oil and gas industry.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in a relevant field or MBA.
  • In-depth knowledge of PDC drill bit design and performance optimization.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and advanced data analysis tools.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading a sales team.



Additional Details:

The Senior Sales Engineer must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. The typical work environment will be in the shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
